Schuler delivers talk on Fort Screven

Departmental faculty member Karl Schuler delivered a public talk, “Fort Screven in Context,” to the Tybee Island Historical Society on April 28.  Fort Screven was constructed in the 1890s as the last phase of military defences built in the Savannah area and protected the Georgia coast and the entrance to the Savannah River from enemy attack.  Schuler has made the area’s military heritage a focus of his research.
