Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest announces its 2010 Restoration Field School. The intensive two-week program will be held from May 30-June 12. The program provides an overview of the philosophy, process and techniques for museum-quality architectural restoration and conservation. People from any background and discipline may qualify. The program is limited to 10-12 participants each year. Tuition $350. Application deadline: April 12. Components include: the history of Thomas Jefferson and his villa retreat; architectural investigation, documentation, restoration and interpretation; and a team investigation and documentation of an early building.
