Weak economy takes its toll on research facilities

October 17, 2009

One sign of the impact of a weak economy is to see reductions in the opening hours of both public and private research facilities in Savannah.  I noticed with some shock this past week that the Savannah Public Library on Bull Street now closes every week night at 6pm and is closed completely on Saturdays.  The Georgia Historical Society has also reduced its opening hours, now opening at noon Tuesday-Friday and opening only two Saturdays a month.  Anyone wishing to do research at these facilities will have to be more efficient than ever.

Yikes, what a pain and sad! And it leaves little time for procrastination…good thing I’m done with those research facilities (at least for now)!
